Traditional In-Classroom

  Where: In a school classroom in our community

As a JA Traditional Volunteer, you'll be paired with a teacher in a classroom. This delivery method is an effective and popular way to show students a connection between the skills they are learning in the classroom and how they can get a more fulfilling career and life.

JA Titan Business Challenge Mentor

  Where: In-Person: In our community

As a volunteer mentor, you'll help guide students through the JA Titan simulation, assist with the decision-making process and keep them on time and on task.

JA Job Shadow

  Where: At your company or organization

Students in our community come to you! You'll give them insight into your job and give them a tour of your company so they can have an opportunity to see how work gets done. It's a really great way to show them how products are made or services are promoted.

JA In A Day

  Where: In a school classroom in our community

This experience uses the same JA programs as the traditional method, but it's condensed into a single day for a high-impact experience! Perfect for the volunteer who can take just a day away from work.

JA Finance Park Experience

  Where: In-Person: Milwaukee, WI or Appleton, WI

JA Finance Park is a middle school program that begins with in-class learning and culminates with a day-long visit to a realistic on-site simulation community where students are assigned a random life experience. Each student takes on a specific career, education, family size, credit score and student debt. They create and manage a monthly budget and are faced with making important financial decisions related to income, expenses, savings and credit through various life stages.

JA Career Speaker

  Where: In Person: Middle School or High School

As a speaker, you will present the same information 3 times to four different groups of students. Group sizes will range between 15 to 30 students per session. A teacher or parent volunteer will be available for help during your 30-minute sessions. Presentations can include a slideshow or videos but are not required.

JA BizTown Experience

  Where: In-Person: Milwaukee, WI or Appleton, WI

JA BizTown begins with in-class learning and culminates with a day-long visit to a fully interactive, simulated town where students operate the economy of a small city. Each student takes on a role such as CEO, CFO, Marketing Director, Sales Manager and others in order to run their businesses, receive paychecks, make bank transactions and shop. They consider saving/spending choices, risk management & insurance strategies, and make personal, career and business-related decisions.

3DE by JA Experience

  Where: In-Person: Milwaukee, WI

3DE by JA helps students construct meaning, develop competencies, and strengthen core academic skills through a guided exploration of authentic, real-world business case challenges. The 3DE model gives students repeated, relevant opportunities to apply their knowledge and solve problems.

K-12 Learning Experiences

Elementary

Young kids are the best. If you have a child in elementary school and want to share your experiences while presenting multimedia financial education and enjoy working with younger kids, contact JA of Wisconsin to learn more about volunteering with JA!

Middle School

Middle School students are the best. Volunteering with kids can be so much fun but it helps when those students are more engaged and curious about the future and the kind of jobs that exist. If you enjoy working with kids, contact JA of Wisconsin to learn more about volunteering with JA.

High School

Young adults are the best. If you enjoy working with kids that are ready to tackle the world but are looking for the paths to be opened up to them and are fascinated by innovation and entrepreneurship, contact JA of Wisconsin to learn about volunteering with JA.
