Grant Proposal & Stewardship Manager
Grant Proposal & Stewardship Manager
As Grant Proposal & Stewardship Manager, you’ll be a key driver of our philanthropic success. With a 500% increase in grant funding over the past five years, we’re looking for a strategic and detail-oriented professional to help us sustain and grow this momentum. You’ll manage the full grant lifecycle—from identifying prospects and writing compelling proposals to reporting outcomes and stewarding funder relationships. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment and is passionate about connecting funders with meaningful impact.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Craft approximately 100 persuasive grant proposals, letters of intent, and reports aligned with JA’s
mission and funder priorities annually.
• Collaborate with program and finance teams to define goals, outcomes, and budgets.
• Maintain a comprehensive grant calendar and integrate it into organizational systems.
• Identify and research new funding opportunities.
• Build and nurture relationships with corporate and foundation partners.
• Support key events and donor engagements in the Southeast Region.
• Track grant performance and ensure compliance with funder expectations.
The above position description is not all inclusive and is not an implied contract of duties performed. It is a general overview of position responsibilities.
Qualifications (required)
• Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Business, Journalism, Social Work, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of grant writing and management experience.
• Exceptional writing and communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data management tools.
• Valid Wisconsin driver’s license and ability to travel locally.
This is a hybrid role, requiring a minimum of 3 days onsite per week, once successfully trained. You’ll also attend off-site meetings and events, occasionally outside of standard business hours.
This is a critical component of the role, as onsite presence is necessary to ensure effective communication and collaboration, engage in training, access organizational resources, and to maintain the quality and efficiency of job performance. This role will also be required to attend meetings off-site to engage with funders and to present at a variety of events. This requirement may also include working outside of normal business hours as required to support business needs.
