Brookfield Teen Wins Statewide Entrepreneurship Competition
Aiden Liu, founder of Let’s Skate Foundation, earns $5,000 scholarship from
Junior Achievement Young Entrepreneur Live Competition
BROOKFIELD, Wisconsin (Thursday, March 6, 2025) – Brookfield Central High School teen Aiden Liu presented his organization Let’s Skate Foundation in front of a panel of judges that earned him a $5,000 scholarship. Liu is one of four statewide finalists who competed in a Shark Tank-style competition hosted by Junior Achievement of Wisconsin.
The JA Young Entrepreneur Statewide Competition finalist video premiere week is March 10-14. Stay tuned to the JA Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube channel for updates. The Viewer’s Choice Award voting opens March 14 and ends at midnight March 16.
Liu started his non-profit Let’s Skate in March 2021. The organization promotes speedskating within local school districts and communities by helping to lower barriers for entry. Since its inception, Let’s Skate has held 90 events (average) per year at Pettit National Ice Center, participated in competitions through the country, and helped recruit 400 students into the sport.
Liu presented his business and stated his case for earning the scholarship to the judges (listed below), who critiqued the businesses, asked questions, and offered valuable feedback.
Among the many entries from across the state, Liu was selected as a finalist for the scholarship based on the following criteria: Charisma/Hustle, Business Success, Growth Potential and Social Involvement. Other considerations included the entrepreneur’s age when the business was started, special challenges faced, strategic direction, innovation, personal integrity, and leadership.
