BMO Helps Wisconsin Students Make Real Financial Progress With $115,000 Donation to Junior Achievement
MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN – Junior Achievement of Wisconsin (JA) is pleased to announce that BMO has donated $115,000 to provide financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and career readiness learning experiences for students across Wisconsin.
The mission of Junior Achievement of Wisconsin (JA) is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed by recruiting and training community volunteers to teach K-12 students about financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and work readiness. JA programs support the organization’s vision of a world where students have the skillset and mindset to build thriving communities.
JA elementary school lessons help students develop habits of smart money management and career planning for the future. Older students dive deeper into the complexities of life planning such as living within one’s means, student debt, investment strategies, risk management, inflation, credit, and career goals.
“Financial education is a key building block to preparing Wisconsin students for a financially secure future. This donation exemplifies our Purpose, to Boldly Grow the Good in business and life, by investing in the future of students across Wisconsin and helping them make real financial progress in their lives,” said Jon Schumacher, Managing Director, Commercial Banking, BMO.
In addition to the generous donation, BMO employees also volunteer their time to teach Wisconsin students about managing money and preparing for a successful career. In the past 5 years, 140 BMO employees have taught JA learning experiences to more than 7,500 Wisconsin students.
