Junior Achievement of Wisconsin Named Finalist in 2022 BizTimes Nonprofit Excellence Awards

MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN – Junior Achievement of Wisconsin (JA) has been named a finalist in BizTimes Media LLC’s Nonprofit Excellence Awards. The finalists will be recognized at a breakfast event on Friday, Nov. 4 at the Italian Community Center, 631 E. Chicago St., from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

The awards are designed to shine a light on the community impact of southeastern Wisconsin nonprofits. The program also salutes the work of for-profit organizations, executives and professionals who donate their time, talent, and treasure to community causes. Dozens of nominations were submitted for the program this year, and thirty finalists were named in nine different categories. An overall winner in each category will be announced the morning of the event.

In addition to the awards themselves, the Nonprofit Excellence Awards program will include a Q&A with Jim Kacmarcik, chairman and chief executive officer of Kacmarcik Enterprises, and Gretchen Jameson, group president for human performance and social impact at Kacmarcik Enterprises, discussing their organization’s approach to giving back and the vision for the new Kacmarcik Center for Human Performance.

Junior Achievement was nominated in the Nonprofit Organization of the Year - Large category. The organization has been in operations since 1941, with the state headquarters in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Eleven Wisconsin offices provide K-12 learning experiences in the counties surrounding Appleton, Eau Claire, Green Bay, Janesville, La Crosse, Madison, Shawano, Racine, Sheboygan, Stevens Point, and Wausau.

“This honor is a testament to the support Junior Achievement receives from corporations, donors, and community volunteers across Wisconsin. Without them, we would not be able to provide Wisconsin youth with the skills they need to break the chains of poverty, achieve their educational goals, and aspire to a career where they will excel,” said Michael Frohna, President of Junior Achievement of Wisconsin.
