Through JA Take Stock in Your Future, students discover the benefits and challenges of investing in the stock market as part of a broader, long-term investment strategy and the risks and rewards of trading. (grades 9-12) The program includes five 45- minute sessions, with additional extended learning activities and optional digital assets offered throughout, including an optional online or site-based JA Stock Market Challenge competition.

JA Stock Market Challenge is a live simulation where students take what they learned in the classroom, through the JA Take Stock in your Future curriculum, and apply it to the real world. JA Areas facilitate fast-paced competitions based on a fictional marketplace. Students can compete in teams or individually, in person or remotely.

Time: 9:00 AM CT

 

High School students from Sheboygan County will gather at UW-Green Bay – Sheboygan Campus and compete in teams of 3-4 against other area high school students.

The JA Stock Market Challenge is a live simulation where students take what they learned in the classroom, through the JA Take Stock in your Future curriculum, and apply it to the real world. JA Areas facilitate fast-paced competitions based on a fictional marketplace. Students will build their portfolio and spend 60 days in a fictional stock market to see how their investments perform. They will react to news events and have the ability to trade their stocks with floor traders. The event is fast paced. We are looking for volunteers as “floor traders” too.

The 1st & 2nd place teams will be awarded prizes.

Important Note: Completion of JA Take Stock in Your Future is required to register for this event.
